Healthy snack to take while travelling

Hi everyone! In light of my work trip coming up as I talked about earlier on my Instagram story, I wanted to share some healthy snacks to take while travelling! It can be so easy to go for fast food, something right by the hotel for convenience, or not eat at all because of quick layovers. I’ve noticed that airports and gas stations seem to be offering healthier options which is great! The few items I will share with you are things you can take while flying, roadtripping, or to your hotel. Some of these are new to me which I am excited to try! Two things to keep in mind when picking healthy travel snacks: 1) Look for things with high protein because this will help keep you fuller longer. 2) Healthy carbs-because Lord knows we need energy when travelling!


With those two main tips in mind, here are some of my favorite things to take when on the road:

-Wild rice cake-

I always think of rice cakes as topping-vessels because you can literally put anything on them! Depending what you have access to while travelling, you could add hummus, Greek yogurt, or even treat it as the bread to a sandwich and put deli meat on it.

-Pb2 Peanut butter-

This is so much easier to take than a big jar of peanut butter! Put however much you want in a bag and it takes up hardly any space! All you need to do is mix it with a little water and you’re good to go. Oh, and did I mention it’s 85% less fat calories than regular peanut butter?

-Beef (or other meat) Jerky-

I can devour one of these babies like nobody’s business! This is a great source of protein and very easy to pack.

-Protein powder-

I currently use 1st Phorm’s Level-1 protein powder. They have tons of flavors and this is literally the best tasting kind I’ve had (and I’ve tried A LOT). Put however much you need in a bag, bring your shaker cup if you can, and you are set.

-Protein bars-

There are so many different types of these out there, and it’s important to read the labels for sugar and fat content. My usual go-to are Quest bars, but decided to try something new this time and got Pure Protein! These fill me up and curb a sweet tooth without actually having too much sugar (if you choose that type).

-Crunchy Chickpeas-

I haven’t tried these before but I am stoked for them! I LOVE crunchy and salty things so these seem right up my alley. These are Bombay spiced and look so scrummy! I’ll report back if they are good or not. 😉
