Get to know me!

Hi there!

I’m Amanda-the gal behind the blog. I have only recently started blogging, and man has it been a lot to learn! Living an active life and being healthy have been passions of mine for just about most of my life, in various forms. I was your typical kid growing up trying multiple sports until volleyball was the one that stuck. I played that in high school as well as competitively on club teams. I absolutely love volleyball. The team aspect, competitiveness, and personal growth made it such a great thing to be a part of. I am a competitive person so this was great for me! I continued to play a bit recreationally in college, and am trying my hand at coaching middle schoolers.

After my volleyball career had run its course, I turned to working out at the gym. I didn’t really know what I was doing at first, but knew I enjoyed it so I read fitness magazines and Google articles. Luckily Pinterest was just becoming a thing so that gave me some good tips as well! My love of exercising continued to grow, so I decided to go to school for exercise science and try to figure out a way to apply my passion to a career. After completing my Bachelors, I still didn’t have much direction of where to take my passion for fitness. I worked at a physical therapy/sports performance clinic and learned so much.

Fast forward a few years, I am now married to my husband Daniel (who I met in college), working for a data software company, and living in Boise. While working full-time, I decided to go back to school for a second bachelors in nutrition. I realized after college that I wanted to expand my knowledge of eating and proper nutrition. The end goal is to become a registered dietitian, and hopefully one day have my own coaching business!

The purpose of this blog is to share the things I’m learning-in life, fitness, and nutrition. In this world with so many different opinions and fads, my goal is to help bring clarity and help people figure out what is best for them. I would love to hear your thoughts about anything, and feel free to ask me anything!
